Enwisen delivers technology that helps companies leverage the web to communicate with their workforce. Their SaaS product, AnswerSource Workforce Portal, is a suite of on-demand, personalized and searchable communications applications designed for more effective self-service. It engages new hires with a personalized onboarding experience, promotes informed benefits consumerism, and improves employee service and communication.

Situation

The Enwisen Sales Team was constantly being presented with a common objection when making the value proposition to clients: why would the Enwisen HR Portal be beneficial given the fact that most clients have already invested heavily on the SharePoint Products and Technologies Platform.

Having formulated a strategy to overcome such objections, they needed an experienced SharePoint vendor to create an initial integration between Enwisen AnswerSource Portal and SharePoint 2007.

Solution

SharePointAce worked closely with the IT Management to develop an integration level that was appropriate based on the AnswerSource existing architecture and as per best practices.

The integrated solution—based on the proprietary AnswerSource API—used components deployed via Features and Solutions (WSP) to ensure an effortless installation for clients wishing to integrate both applications.

Key Deliverables

• Designed and architected the integration solution to allow the creation of links within the SharePoint Top Navigation and Quick Launch to Enwisen Portal specific pages 
• Developed custom Application Pages that implemented “auto-login” functionality to the Enwisen Portal 
• Developed a mechanism to map Enwisen Portal specific User metadata to SharePoint User Profile fields

The tight integration with the existing SaaS architecture allowed Enwisen to easily extend SharePoint as a new client offering, addressing a common hindrance to closing sales.
